A gift from us to you.
It is a problem many of us have encountered – The Showlife as well: messages from sketchy people on Facebook who want to sell their outfits or blankets. Quite often, these blankets and outfits are the cheap version of a custom made product. We have talked to Sabrina Hoppert and Nadine Caballera from MamaMia Showclothing about this topic.
In our articles, we mainly focus on Quarter Horses, Paint Horses and Appaloosa – not only, because they are great breeds, but also because they make up the majority of horses shown in our sport. In Germany, however, there is an association that offers Western events for all sorts of breeds – and there, still, usually dominate the “classic” Western horses. If you can win with a different breed of horse, this horse must be really broke, willing to give its best – just like Fiona. This Gypsy Vanner Horse has been successfully shown in EWU classes by owner Ruth Böhm. We have talked to Ruth about her special mare and their career.
Nowadays, there are many different designers who offer show clothing in Europe – no matter what, jacket or shirt, expensive or really, really expensive. Those who can afford it, can choose from many options. Those who can’t, however, have to search through many, many Facebook groups in order to find a pre-used outfit which the previous owner doesn’t like anymore or doesn’t fit in anymore. Since a few months, however, there is an easier option: Horse Show Stunners. Founder Isabell Perkins has told us everything about this new and special online shop which is like the European Version of Show Me Again.
It’s something we all have said to non-equestrians: Riding is a sport! Yes, it is and that also means that being fit and throwing in a work-out from time to time is essential in order to be able to control your body when riding. However, many equestrians are not sure what kind of exercises can be helpful in order to improve their body position. Laura Pfeifer and Jacqueline Korioth are both award-winning equestrians and physiotherapists and know just the right workout for anyone who wants to get fit for this season. Thank you for the great tips, girls!
