The Showlife has learned a few weeks ago that there will be a new four-legged team member at Lenka Z Showhorses. This team is run by Lenka Zdráhalová and most riders are from the Czech Republic. Lenka has told us all about the latest addition to the team: Gonna Be A Romeo.
Lenka has a knack for importing horses from the States that turn into successful show horses as she has imported Ona Lazy Cowboy aka Marley and Batt Ur Lashez aka Cassie for clients Leontyna Tanko and Nikol Pavlicova. Both girls took home Golden Series and European Champion titles with their horses.
Gonna Be A Romeo aka Romeo is a 2017 red roan gelding by The Good Ranger out of the mare Not Gonna Work which makes him a full brother to the well-known show horses The Lone Ranger and NSBA World Champion Lazy Lopin Ranger. He is going to be the four-legged partner of a young girl as well. Eva Vantoortelboom is from Slovakia. “I met this really nice and talented girl at a clinic in the Czech Republic,” Lenka told us. “She was riding her old horse who wasn’t really easy and she did a great job with him.”
Finding a new horse for Eva wasn’t easy, Lenka admits. „Romeo was the first one who passed all the tests.” The Czech trainer found the gelding on the website of the breeders, Lightning Bar Equine Services, while looking for horse on the internet. “When I found Romeo, I thought, he was the perfect match for another client,” Lenka says. But the other clients decided to wait another year to get a horse. “I sent the information about him to Eva and her family and it was love at first sight.” According to Lenka the family fell for Romeo’s great look, movement, his pedigree and “what’s really important for a Youth girl: his good mind”.
So far, the new team does not have any plans – mainly because of the corona crisis. “We hope to comfortably include him in the training process,” Lenka says. “If there is a chance, we might bring him to Aachen or Kreuth this year – let’s see…” Well, since this has worked out well the past two times, we are sure Romeo is gonna follow in the footsteps of his four-legged team members Marley and Cassie. Schon vor einigen Wochen hat Lenka Zdráhalová uns erzählt, dass sie bald ein neues vierbeiniges Teammitglied willkommen heißen können. Die tschechische Trainerin betreibt Lenka Z Show Horses und hat uns alles über das neue Pferd Gonna Be A Romeo erzählt.
Lenka hat ein Händchen dafür, Pferde aus den Staaten zu importieren, die dann erfolgreich werden: Sie hat vor zwei Jahren für Leontyna Tanko und Nikol Pavlicova die Quarter Horses Ona Lazy Cowboy (Marley) und Batt Your Lashez (Cassie) importiert. Beide Pferde sind mittlerweile Golden Series Champions und Europameister.
Das neue Pferd, Gonna Be A Romeo, ist ein 2017 geborener red roan Wallach von The Good Ranger aus der Not Gonna Work. Romeo ist somit ein Vollbruder zu den erfolgreichen Pferden The Lone Ranger und dem NSBA World Champion Lazy Lopin Ranger. Und auch Romeo wird der neue vierbeinige Partner einer Youth Reiterin: Eva Vantoortelboom aus der Slowakei. „Ich habe diese talentierte Reiterin auf einem Kurs in Tschechien kennengelernt“, erzählt Lenka. „Sie ist damals ihr altes Pferd geritten, das wirklich nicht einfach war. Aber sie hat es toll gemacht.“
Trotzdem war es nicht leicht, ein neues Pferd für Eva zu finden, gibt Lenka zu: „Romeo war der erste, der alle Tests bestanden hat.“ Die tschechische Trainerin hat den Wallach auf der Website seiner Züchter Lightning Bar Equine Services entdeckt. „Als ich ihn sah, dachte ich, dass er perfekt zu anderen Kunden von mir passt“, sagt Lenka. Aber diese Kunden wollten noch ein Jahr warten, bevor sie sich ein Pferd kaufen. „Also habe ich Evas Familie alle Informationen zu Romeo geschickt und da war es dann Liebe auf den ersten Blick.“ Der Familie gefielen Romeos Gänge, sein Aussehen und das Pedigree – „aber vor allem der Charakter, das ist wichtig bei Youth-Reitern“.
Bisher hat das Team keine Pläne – vor allem wegen der Pandemie. „Er soll sich erst einmal an den Trainingsalltag gewöhnen“, sagt Lenka. „Wenn es dieses Jahr möglich ist, kommt er vielleicht mit nach Kreuth oder Aachen – wir werden sehen…“ Nachdem das die letzten beiden Male gut funktioniert hat, wird bestimmt auch Romeo in die Fußstapfen seiner vierbeinigen Teammitglieder Cassie und Marley treten.
