A Challenge: Finding Foal Names

Everything in the horse industry is full of challenges. Some are harder or annoying, some are fun. The one we are going to deal with in this article definitely one of the latter: finding the perfect name for a newborn foal. You want it to sound good, be creative or funny, bear meaning and – ideally – match the horse’s looks or personality. While some people tend to create a mix out of the sire’s and dam’s names, other breeders are more free and creative. We have talked to three breeders who have each told us how they choose show and barn names for the newborns.

The TSL Packing List

As promised, we created a packing list for the shows. We made two versions: one for Amateur riders who travel to a show by themselves and one for entire show teams. We do know that some things might be missing – because each team is different and every rider needs different things at a show. After all, we and our horses are individuals. We do hope, however, to have covered all the important basics and we have left some margins, spaces and check boxes empty so you can individualize the packing list and add whatever you need.

Getting Fit for the Season

It’s something we all have said to non-equestrians: Riding is a sport! Yes, it is and that also means that being fit and throwing in a work-out from time to time is essential in order to be able to control your body when riding. However, many equestrians are not sure what kind of exercises can be helpful in order to improve their body position. Laura Pfeifer and Jacqueline Korioth are both award-winning equestrians and physiotherapists and know just the right workout for anyone who wants to get fit for this season. Road to ApHC Youth World: Lilly Görgen & Zoe Long

They are two among hundreds of Americans: Zoe Long and Lilly Görgen will compete at the 2018 ApHC Youth World Show. Zoe has competed at this show in 2017 (find our article here), Lilly will be part of the Exchange Program that is organized by the ApHC. This will be her first time at the World Show.
