New Podcast Episode feat. Lea Henzgen

Summer break is over and we are back with another episode of „No Life Like Showlife“. This time our guest was one of the most decorated Amateur riders in Europe: Lea Henzgen. She told us all about her mares Under The Influence and Definately A Hottie, her former heart horse Doc Laptop and her hobbies and interests aside from horses. Lea also shared what it’s like to show alongside her brother Aaron, the highs and lows in her show career and her future goals and plans.

Showing a Young Horse: Which Program to Choose?

Starting a youngster, introducing a young horse to the show circuit, that is an exciting process – one that comes with many decisions. Owner and trainer have to decide which association and which futurity program they want to show the horse in. We have talked to Linda Leckebuch-Stark and Carolin Lenz about that decision and looked at two of the largest programs in Europe.

The TSL Packing List

As promised, we created a packing list for the shows. We made two versions: one for Amateur riders who travel to a show by themselves and one for entire show teams. We do know that some things might be missing – because each team is different and every rider needs different things at a show. After all, we and our horses are individuals. We do hope, however, to have covered all the important basics and we have left some margins, spaces and check boxes empty so you can individualize the packing list and add whatever you need.

We Will be Back

We work. We sweat. We cry. We, fail, one time, another time and still try. We criticise, yet never doubt ourselves, we push forward. We get up early, we ignore our sore legs, we put on a neat shirt and show. We fight against all odds. And we win. We are European Champions, Futurity Champions, National Champions and sometimes the queens and kings of hearts. We are equestrians. We know how to defeat a crisis, even Corona. We know how to push through. We will be back. ?

This is not the most professional video as it features many clips that were taken with a phone. But those are your clips and we wanted to share them. Did you spot yourself or your friends?
Those clips that do look professional, however, were taken by Horsepaparazzi. Thank you very much! ?

Never Give Up: The Story of Lea and Jerry

Riding is a great sport and has many positive sides to it: victories, going for a trail ride, spending a day at barn with friends. If you’re honest, however, many of us experience a lot of negative moments during our riding career as well – some more, some less. It’s all about how you deal with such experiences. In this article, we tell the story of Lea Peters and her horse Cooldressedinvester aka Jerry. Lea says their story is full of positive and negative “I don’t believe that“-moments.

A Very Special Birthday Present

Celebrating your birthday in times of corona is probably not what most people who were born in April imagined when they thought about their next birthday party – needless to say they are quite unlucky. For one girl, however, this birthday is going to be a very special one, because Zoe Brey is getting a very special birthday present.

#stallionsunday: Chocolate After Dark

This is the next part of our series #stallionsunday in which we introduce several European allround stallions. The one that we wanted to know a little more about this time is a stallion that has been living in Europe for only a few weeks: Chocolate After Dark. Rikke Benjaminsen and Bernhard Schießl who run RB Showhorse purchased the stallion from Max and Mari Guerri. Chocolate After Dark is by Chips Hot Chocolate out of Invite Me After Dark. Rikke shared some more information about this seven-year-old AQHA stallion.
