Definately A Hottie has been awarded the AQHA Champion title. The 2011 chestnut mare is owned by the Henzgen family and mostly shown by Amateur competitor Lea Henzgen in Trail, Showmanship, Hunt Seat Equitation, Western Pleasure, Halter and occasionally in the Western Horsemanship. The Henzgen family imported „Ellie Mae“ in 2017 after Lea found her during her semester at Baylor University – „or maybe, she found me,“ Lea says. The mare was shown by Buddy Fisher in the States.
While she was planned to be the show horse for Lea’s brother Aaron, Ellie Mae quickly become everybody’s darling: „My parents even take her on trail rides,“ Lea told us.
According to the successful Amateur competitor, the mare has the „biggest heart in the world“. „Not one day goes by without Ellie Mae giving 120 percent, trying to make sure that we are happy, no matter if that is inside or outside of the pen,“ Lea says. „I have hardly encountered a horse like her, one that is willing to please every day of the year, whether it’s day or night.“ She is not only talented, but definitely breaks with the „chestnut mare stereotype“, Lea stresses. „She never shows any diva like behavior – she simply brings our family so much joy!“
Definately A Hottie im Besitz der Familie Henzgen wurde der AQHA Champion verliehen. Die 2011 geborene chestnut Stute wird vor allem von Lea Henzgen in Showmanship, Trail, Hunt Seat Equitation, Western Pleasure, Halter und gelegentlich Western Horsemanship vorgestellt. Die Familie Henzgen hat „Ellie Mae“ im Winter 2017/2018 aus den USA importiert, wo die Stute von Buddy Fisher vorgestellt wurde. Lea fand sie während ihres Auslandssemesters an der Baylor University – „oder vielleicht hat auch sie mich gefunden!“
Eigentlich als Turnierpferd für ihren Bruder Aaron gedacht gewann Ellie Mae schnell die Herzen der ganzen Familie. „Sie ist beispielsweise für meine Eltern mittlerweile ein toller Partner im Gelände“, erzählt Lea.
Außerdem habe die Stute „das größte Herz der Welt“. „Es gibt keinen, wirklich keinen einzigen Tag, an dem sie nicht versucht, 120 Prozent alles so zu machen, damit man happy ist. Sie gibt immer alles, was sie kann, egal ob im Showpen oder außerhalb“, betont Lea. „Ich habe das wirklich bisher selten bei einem Pferd gesehen, dass es wirklich 365 Tage im Jahr zu jeder Tages- und Nachtzeit sagt ‚Ja, ich bin dabei‘.“ Ellie Mae ist nicht nur talentiert, sondern widerlegt auch das Klischee der „chestnut mare“: „Sie hat keine Stuten-Allüren und macht einfach nur Freude.“
